[19:15] Free Speech for Peace

Apparently, you don't have to be a high school student to get in trouble for wearing an anti-war t-shirt. If you're a high school student in Santa Rosa, you have stronger ways to voice your dissent. Having already done a sit-in at the local military recruiters' office (and not gotten arrested), I have to say I was impressed at the dedication and poise that these kids (and the few elders that joined them) showed as they stood up sat down for something they believe in.

[14:54] NoCat at the Spectrum Policy Conference

I'm at Professor Lessig's Spectrum Policy Conference at Stanford, where Dave Sifry has got Sputnik running the wireless network. Sputnik, as you know, is based on NoCatAuth, the wireles portal software of which I am the lead developer. Woo! (Thanks, Richard!)

Update: Sifry writes that Sputnik's gateway is no longer based directly on the NoCat code, but uses most of the good ideas. I recognize some of the buttons on the splash page, too, I think. :-)
